An Important Update from the Herring Island Summer Arts Festival

Due to recent events in relation to the COVID-19 coronavirus, the A4 Art Australia: National Exhibition will be closed to the public after Sunday 22nd March.

The gallery will be open this weekend, Saturday 21st March, and Sunday 22nd March, from 11.30am - 4.30pm both days.

The expansiveness of our gallery spaces means we can ensure the recommended social distancing between visitors, and all visitors should practice good hygiene in our gallery with hand-washing facilities available at the venue. We request anyone who is unwell or has recently travelled overseas to avoid the gallery completely.

During this constantly evolving situation the health and wellbeing of our members, volunteers and community is our top priority.

We are continuing to closely monitor and evaluate the situation and we are taking strict precautions to keep safe and follow preventative measures.

And from the current exhibition:

The Contemporary Art Society of Victoria is continuing to develop ways to promote the work of our A4 Art Australia artists, particularly through our online services.

Consider investing in a unique and affordable artwork by one or more of the One hundred and ninety nine artists supported by this exhibition, or purchase one of the 582 artworks for a loved one!

Shortly we will have an online gallery, where you can purchase an artwork, and it will be POSTED (unframed) anywhere in Australia for the catalogue price!

Details will be posted here next week.

Anyone who has purchased an artwork to date, will be contacted shortly to arrange collection (not from the Island!)

We thank you deeply for your continued support and patience as we work hard to keep the lights on for the arts in Melbourne.

This is uncharted territory for many of us, so please remember to be kind, be calm, be empathetic and look after each other. We wish you all to stay healthy and safe and look forward to the time when we see you again at our beloved Herring Island.
